The tools we explored included Grammarly, Zotero, Miro, Scrivener, PolicyMap, and ESRI ArcGIS Business Analyst. While each application has its niche use I can foresee getting the most out of the Zotero as it is an application to generate citations and bibliographies greatly simplifying the process of documenting sources and reference for research papers. I was also intrigued by PolicyMap and ESRI Business Analyst as these will be useful resources to develop visual products from data. Both will definitely require some exploration and time in order to build up proficiency. Miro seemed like an interesting tool for storyboarding ideas in a Post-It note like manner. I’m not sure how much of a utility it will be for me because I’m more used to writing down my ideas in an outline text format. As a writing tool with built in templates and organizational option, Scrivener looks to be quite a useful tool, though I’m hesitant to have to purchase another piece of software. Lastly, we explored Grammarly though given many of the warnings from staff and professors concerning the use of AI, I am extremely hesitant to use it in this atmosphere as it will trigger the AI checker that my professors are using. I’ll be comfortable with having to proofread my stuff for now.

For today’s class we learned about various tools to help with writing, idea generation/organization, and data collection.
